does anyone else wonder about the ironically terrible taste of the “sour” stickers?

*today, I’m applying snippets and ideas behind one of my chapters to the new release of Olivia Rodrigo’s album. it’s not quite an excerpt, but it definitely is PERF*

“hi there! my name is olivia! I’m 18 years old and writing songs is my favorite thing to do in the world. I’ve been doing it for as long as I can remember and I fall more in love with it every day.”

These first lines into Olivia Rodrigo’s website—a bloggish introduction surrounded by an aughts scrapbook aesthetic of photos either “taped” or “cut and glued” onto the webpage—sound so familiar as to be anonymous. This could be anyone’s MySpace.
